When is it okay to give a "fresh out of college" employee more responsibility? I'm nervous about overwhelming them.
If the new employee has done a good job performing to date, I would continue to push them. In my experience, our new college grads are motivated to perform and hungry for more responsibility. Be clear what you want, monitor their performance and be available to answer questions and guide as appropriate.
