I am unsure what you mean by "what term of COBRA"? There aren't too many options when it comes to COBRA. If you have 20 or more employees, you will need to offer him the continuation of his health insurance benefits for 18 months. However, the ex-employee has to pay the full premium. The only real affect it has on your company is if he or she has significant medical costs. This could affect your annual premium. Several health insurance providers are actually providing COBRA service to employers - they will compute the costs and send out the paperwork to the ex-employee. I would check with yours to see if they can handle it for you.
