"Don't Incent Managers to do Stupid Things"

Enclosed is a recent opinion article by Geoff Colvin @ Fortune re: executive compensation (http://bit.ly/93FeQ4). While the focus of the article is the compensation for big-company CEOs, the lesson is one we can all learn from: incentives and pay plans will drive behavior. It echoes the words of Sherron Watkins that I wrote about in my blog. Are your pay plans driving the behavior and results that are important to your business?

Smart article, thanks for sharing! I particularly agree with how important it is to make CEO's think more like shareholders.
