"Principles Before Profit?"

A colleague and I got into a discussion on Thursday about a business' commitment to maximizing shareholder return vs.its social responsibilities. I was pro-shareholder return. Little did I know that there is legal activity underway that will protect companies that want to pursue a social agenda that may not always result in maximized profits.
